Blending and dispatch plant
Karsdorf, 1996
Compartments of various sizes, and thus a partly asymmetric cross-section, were required for the 71-metre high blending and dispatch facility in Karsdorf, Saxony-Anhalt. It consists of 22 compartments on two levels, which are separated by a level with pipes; different from the silo in Dotternhausen, an intermediate floor instead of a hopper was therefore necessary.
Smaller intermediate and finished product silos are located in the lower part, whereas compartments for the storage of cement and raw materials for blended products are accommodated in the upper section. As it may occur that goods are only stored in single compartments, the load-bearing structure had to be calculated for a variety of different loading conditions – 75 in total.
